Danny Ings nets birthday hat-trick as Liverpool stroll to 7-0 win over Felda United

Making his mark: Ings is showing he's ready for action at Anfield
Danny Ings bagged a second-half hat-trick as a Liverpool XI romped to a 7-0 victory over local side Felda United at Kuala Lumpur’s Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
At Brendan Rodgers' request, the open training session in front of around 5,000 fans was transformed into a 30-minute per half game against the Malaysian Premier League side in order to give playing time to those on the fringes of his squad.
It was a team packed full of youth and with a sprinkling of experience with Ryan Fulton in goal and a back four of Andre Wisdom, Kolo Toure, Mamadou Sakho and Joe Maguire, writes James Pearce for the Liverpool Echo.

The inclusion of Sakho suggests that Dejan Lovren will start alongside Martin Skrtel in Friday’s final tour match against the Malaysian Selection.

Threesy does it: Hard-working Ings struck a treble
Ings played up front with Sheyi Ojo, Pedro Chirivella, Jordan Rossiter, Joao Carlos Teixeira and Lazar Markovic behind him.
The Reds took the lead inside four minutes as Ings’ backheel released Maguire and his cross was expertly converted by Chirivella.
Markovic’s cool lob made it 2-0 and before the break Ojo slotted home.
In the second half it was a procession. Ings found the net twice in quick succession with some clincial finishing.
Teixeira then delighted the fans with a stunning 40-yard chip over the stranded keeper.
Ings completed his treble with the last kick of the bottom when he buried a chance into the bottom corner.
Liverpool: Fulton, Wisdom, Toure, Sakho, Maguire, Ojo, Chirivella, Rossiter, Teixeira, Markovic, Ings.
