Bird attack: The part-time mountain sheep farmer tried to fight the gulls off, but he couldn't save the animals
Giant seagulls are attacking and killing mature sheep in an incident that's straight out of a Hitchcock horror film.
Farmer John McCrohan said that he witnessed two grown-up ewes being mauled to death by a number of gulls.
The attack occurred on his farm between Camp and Anascaul, in County Kerry, Republic of Ireland.
In scenes reminiscent of Hitchcock's creepy avian attack movie The Birds, John said that he was convinced if he hadn't been holding a stick, the gulls would have attacked him, too.
He fought off the gulls, but despite his best efforts, both of the mature sheep died after they were savaged through their thick woollen coats by the pecking pests.
