To celebrate the first anniversary of the opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley attraction at Universal Orlando, the theme park cast a magic spell for one day for Harry fans at London's King’s Cross station.
The East Coast Main Line terminus - home of the legendary Platform 9 3/4 from the books and films - was the appropriate venue to display 3D street art of Diagon Alley.
Artists from the firm 3D Joe & Max worked for five days to create a stunning piece of two-dimensional artwork which looked 3D when completed and allowed Harry Potter fans and commuters at the station to ‘enter’ Diagon Alley and get a glimpse inside J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world.
And of course it was a perfect Potter photo and video opp!
At the real Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley in Orlando, visitors can walk through the streets of London to Diagon Alley, where they find many of the magical world’s most famous establishments such as the Leaky Cauldron eaterie, Ollivanders wand shop and Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes for all those magical jokes and novelty items.
Plus there's the likes of wizardwear emporium Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions, and a chance to acquire furry, feathered, or scaly creatures at the Magical Menagerie or some essential game gear at Quality Quidditch Supplies.
The highlight of course is entering Gringotts bank and boarding the fantastic ride Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts . universalorlando.co.uk
