Woman kills her children with poison following a disagreement with husband

Winnie Daraja is locked up at the Webuye Police Station in Kenya, after she killed her children following an argument with her husband. On Tuesday, September 29, the 23-year-old mother of two from Shibanga, Kakamega North, laced queen cakes with rat poison and fed five year old Peris and three-year-old, Tairus, before taking some herself.

29 killed in fresh Boko haram attacks in Borno

No fewer than 29 people lost their lives after Boko Haram members attacked Dille community and other surrounding villages of Askira Uba Local Government Area in Borno state yesterday July 27th.

A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Jubrin Satumari confirmed the recent attack and said his plea for more troops to be drafted to his constituency has over time fallen on deaf ears


"I am much worried over the spate of killings by suspected insurgents in my constituency. I have pleaded to security authorities, particularly military to deploy troops to most of the affected villages to safeguard my people’s lives and property, but all my cries failed on deaf ears as there are no security presence in my constituency yet, but I still want to assure my people that we are doing everything possible to see that military troops are deployed immediately” he said.

An angry mother took her daughter on a school trip wearing "F@£K sexism" T-shirts after the teen was banned for swearing at a boy who made sexist comments.
Abi Jenkins was stunned when she was told how her daughter Bethan was no longer allowed to go to a theme park with her class after she stood-up to cruel taunts from a schoolboy.
The 14-year-old schoolgirl had sworn at the boy after he make remarks to her about being 'in the kitchen', but while Bethan was disciplined, the school did nothing to the boy.
Mrs Jenkins said: "This lad and his friends were constantly going on at my daughter and her friends saying: "You should not be in school, you should be in the kitchen" and "Go make me a sandwich".
"Bethan was at the end of her tether and eventually lost her patience to swear at the boy."

Pearson Sells Financial Times To Japan's Nikkei

Financial Times owner Pearson has agreed to sell the newspaper to Japan's Nikkei for £844m ($1.3bn), the companies said.
The deal does not include the FT Group's headquarters in London or its 50% stake in The Economist magazine.
Pearson had been exploring the possible sale of the FT for weeks, the newspaper reported on its website.
Those previously mentioned as potential buyers included the German group Axel Springer, as well as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters and Buzzfeed, which denied any interest.
Pearson had owned the FT for nearly 60 years.

Katy Perry appears to have accused Taylor Swift of "capitalizing on the take down of a woman" after the singer got into a spat with Nicki Minaj.
Earlier this week Minaj complained about her single Anaconda being snubbed in the video of the year category at this year's MTV Video Music Awards.
In a series of tweets she suggested that the music industry was biased against African-American women and preferred female singers with "very slim bodies".
"If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year," she wrote.
